What we do
ARYS follows young people in Vancouver who use drugs, over time, to learn what affects their health and well-being. What we learn helps shape programs, services and policies for youth.
ARYS, the At-Risk Youth Study, has been running in Vancouver since 2005. It is run by researchers at the BC Centre on Substance Use (BCCSU).

Young people know their own lives best. Their answers help people who plan services and make rules understand what is really going on.
Young people with lived experience work on the study as community research associates. They help with outreach, with the questions we ask, and with sharing what we find.
